Access Humboldt Announces Live TV Coverage of
Humboldt County Planning Commission Meeting in Redway

EUREKA, CA – Access Humboldt announces live telecast of County Planning Commission coverage on Suddenlink cable channel CIVIC10 for the Thursday, Dec. 17th, public hearing at Redway Elementary School. Live meeting coverage is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. PST, and will run through to the conclusion of the hearing.

According to the agenda, “The purpose of this meeting is to receive public input on the Planning Commission Hearing Draft General Plan (GPU), focusing on the Land Use Element.” http://co.humboldt.ca.us/planning/commission/default.asp?dkey=1217200940...

Access Humboldt Executive Director Sean McLaughlin said, “We’re happy to help the County give residents of Southern Humboldt a voice, and particularly proud to transmit the public hearing coverage across the Humboldt region and online. This is our first live telecast from Redway, so we are excited - and there are some challenging technical aspects that motivate us to take special efforts to make this happen."

This telecast will utilize digital transmission (IP Video) over dedicated broadband network links provided by 101 Netlink, a local wireless broadband provider involved with the Digital Redwoods initiative – including Digital Rio Dell and the Eureka Muni-Hub projects.

Access Humboldt regularly provides TV coverage for local government meetings on Suddenlink cable channel CIVIC 10 utilizing dedicated fiber transmission network for public, education and government purposes. Educational programming is aired on EDUC 8 channel, and a mix of community media programming on channels AH-11 and AH-12.
