Comments to FCC on "Selectable Output Control"

Access Humboldt joined with Public Knowledge and other national public interest groups in opposing "Selectable Output Control" ("SOC") application by MPAA.

According to Public Knowldge press release:

Thirteen public interest groups today said the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) should not respond to the “whims of industry” and grant the motion picture lobby the ability to control how consumers use their television sets and set-top boxes. Senator Boxer supports regional broadband

Access Humboldt thanks Senator Barbara Boxer for supporting regional broadband stimulus.

"Senator Boxer's letter of October 22, 2009 to RUS Administrator Jonathan Adelstein is an important acknowledgment of regional efforts to attract Federal support for broadband deployment, demand creation and adoption efforts," said Sean McLaughlin, executive director of Access Humboldt.
